Bruce Zuchowski, Republican Sheriff conquered over Democrat Jon Barber

According to unofficial Portage County Board of Election results, Republican Bruce Zuchowski narrowly defeated Democrat Jon Barber in Tuesday’s election for Portage County sheriff.

Unofficial board results show that Zuchowski is ahead with 50.8% of the total votes cast, with all precincts reporting.

The win comes months after Zuchowski’s public Facebook post, in which he urged citizens to write down the addresses of those who favor Vice President Kamala Harris so that they can deliver immigrants, whom he referred to as “locusts,” to their homes, sparked widespread criticism.

The Portage County Board of Elections reports that Zuchowski acquired 56% of the vote in 2020, without problems triumphing his first term. After Democratic previous Sheriff David Doak decided not to are seeking reelection, he have become the primary Republican to occupy the placement in over ten years.
